Messing about on the river

Well not me personally but plenty were!

We decided it would be silly to head straight home this morning so after a leisurely breakfast we drove to Knaresborough - never been before but it was a beautiful place. We didn't bother with Mother Shipton's cave, just opted for a walk along the river and up to the castle grounds which were lovely. We picked up some sandwiches from a proper old fashioned independent bakery and had a bit of a picnic before walking back along the river via the paddling pool.

On the way back from Nidd yesterday we had seen signs for a scarecrow festival at Ripley, and had also had the icecream there recommended, so we drove up there for a while and had a pleasant stroll (and a very yummy icecream)

Shame the weekend has to come to an end - busy week ahead and feeling guilty for not being able to have any time off with Lottie :-(
