There were some highland cows in a field and I liked the semaphoring horns on this one. I think black ones are actually more historically 'authentic' than the usual reddish-browns, in spite of the latter's ubiquity in paintings etc.

this was on a walk from The Loons to Marwick, then along the shore path south to Skaill Bay. Not a lot bird-wise. A hen-harrier at the hide, turnstones and sanderlings on the shore, etc.
