The Butterfly Bush
The buddleia really earned its nickname today! I have never seen so many butterflies visiting in the 30 years we have had this bush.
I'm used to cabbage whites in the garden but today the buddleia attracted small tortoiseshells, red admirals and peacock butterflies. The racemes were covered in butterflies all day long.
I'm not used to seeing peacock butterflies but today I was getting two on one shot. I was spoilt for choice but liked this one best.
The rest of the day we spent cutting grass, with three gardens to care for, there's always plenty of work.
