Pond Dipping!

I went over to see my friend in Leek, a market town in Staffordshire. Sometimes known as the Queen of the Moorlands - being the Staffordshire Moorlands.

We took her 2 boys I... and B.... to Coombes Valley Nature Reserve, just outside Leek, for a pond dipping session. This was a newt larva that we fished out of the pond.

The two kids got bored a bit quicker than we did! We also caught a few pond skaters, snails, a water boatman and (we think?) a dragon fly larva.
