Asparagus Peas
As you all know I've been growing some rather unusual veg plants as suggested by James Wong an ethno-botanist on a mission to get gardeners to be a bit more adventurous. These asparagus peas are a much smaller plant than the tomatillos but they also grow well and very fast. You can see the strange shaped pods as well as the pretty flowers.
However, so far, I can't say I think much of the taste - at least from nibbling them straight from the plant. Unless they improve - a lot - by cooking, I won't be bothering with them again. Although they are easy and pretty enough to grow as ornamental plants I suppose.
