Magic box
Today I was reading a bit about flash photography: light modifiers, etc. I don't have the things needed to do the kind of photography I was reading about (yet) but that got me thinking that I have plenty of photographic equipment to play with, so I challenged myself to do something new with flash. And this is the result. There's much room for improvement, but I'll go step by step.
Technical details:
The picture was taken in a completely dark room, so the light in the picture comes exclusively from the flash. The Flash is a Nikon SB-800 (any would do) in Manual mode at 1/64th power. It is inside the box pointing upwards and is triggered by a wireless remote control connected to my camera. The camera was in Manual mode 1/50, F7.1, ISO 800. I focused with autofocus and then switched the focus to manual, so that it wouldn't try to refocus in the dark.
