Widewaters, Erie Canal, Pittsford NY. These are ponds adjacent to the canal to hold water as ballast to allow operatio of the locks. The changing water levels creats a marsh around the banks and is habitat for various plants and animals. This area looks like it could be in the OKEFENOKE SWAMP
