Chemainus turned it's fortunes around when it decided to paint images of it's history on the walls of it's houses. As Industry disappeared, tourism flourished, and the town started a new life centered around a pride in it's heritage. Not all are as interactive as this one, but all are interesting and now wall space is a valuable commodity in this attractive Vancouver Island town
