Relief
When you just simply can't take another step forward...it's best just to lay down. (South Fork of the Coos River-just a few miles from town-Paul and Annie take a mini vacation...)
Completely ready for a break, I requested some leave time, and called The Contraptioneer, who needed one as badly as I did.
Just out of town, along the river, floats a dock here, and a dock there. Temperatures just over 70 f degrees and a complete lack of wind, made lounging on one such dock, the perfect vacation for a couple of hours. Big puffy clouds, birds singing, soaring and diving over head, the sound of boats coming and going occasionally, the casting of lures, the relaxed, pleasant conversation of those who came to fish, and the song, "sittin' on the dock of the bay, watching the clouds roll away..." floating across the mind.
The least expensive vacation imaginable...sinking into a warm dock, sharing gratitude with someone you love, playing with cameras and knowing there is no cell service where you find your rest.
