Jibon Tari floating hospital, Bangladesh
These cataract patients can see again following surgery on board IMPACT's Jibon Tari floating hospital in Bangladesh.
There are more than 700 rivers in Bangladesh, so a hospital boat is an ideal way to reach impoverished communities. Since 1999, over 25,000 people have had their sight restored on board.
Next week the hospital will feature in Al Jazeera’s excellent world health programme ‘The Cure’. It is scheduled for broadcast on Tues 3rd September 2013 at 10.30pm (repeated again throughout the week).
