Kobarid, Slovenia
With temperatures in the high 30's and a three month old baby in tow we tried our best to keep out of the mid day sun. However in Slovenia the coolest part of the day was from around 5am till about midday, after which the temperatures rose steadily all day, and all night.
So today we went for a walk up through the woods towards the Kozjak waterfall, criss crossing the aqua river on rickety suspension bridges which the boys loved and the adults hated, following lizards and watching bees busy in multicoloured hives.
In the afternoon we did what all the locals do on a hot day and cooled off by and in the Najda river where the pools are deep enough to swim in and the water is lovely and warm thanks to the thermal springs.
