The end of the line

My friend became seriously ill earlier in the summer with a major infection around her clavicle bone, caused (we think) by a spider or insect bite. After two weeks in hospital she was allowed home, having had a line inserted in her arm through which she could self-administer intravenous antibiotics directly into the infection site at her clavicle.

Thankfully she has been getting steadily better over the last six weeks and there was great rejoicing today when the district nurse came and removed the line as she no longer needs her daily antibiotic fix! Today's blip shows the removed line which has been a life-saver over the last six weeks.
