In the harbour or out at Sea?
After finishing off a fence for my Mum and Dad, I headed back home and once Clare had completed her stint at the warehouse of the Foodbank she helps out at, we headed down to Cramond for a walk along the river - and most enjoyable it was!!
Seagulls were being fed by people with bread, folk were enjoying the wide open spaces of the fore shore and a Heron was preening itself on the far side in readiness for its next meal - a fish from the river.
But what caught my attention the most were the boats - all moored up by the wall at the estuary where the river meets the firth of forth - all still, waiting, looking great ...and yet that is not what they were designed to do - they are designed to travel on water, to sail, to catch the wind and travel from one point to another - to carry passengers to far flung places (or even just up to the bridges!!) - sometimes that journey can be smooth and uneventful, sometimes it can be fraught with danger.
Our lives are like that also - we weren't designed to sit still and do nothing...we were designed to have an encounter - a relationship with the creator Himself..God.
His desire is that we listen to Him, get to know Him, worship Him. He designed us to be creative, to enjoy life - Life in all its fullness - to put our trust in Him and then allow to Him to take us on an incredible journey - a journey that at times may be uneventful and yet at other times may be scary and yet He reminds us that if we trust Him and walk with Him.....He will "Never let us down, Never walk off and Never leave us".
I'm off for a sail....... :-)
