The pencil is mightier than the sword

Ed and Jan gave us a flying visit. Ed finished off sharpening B's classroom pencils - a thing that he found very therapeutic.
I'm getting increasingly annoyed at all this talk of bombing Syria in order to prevent further chemical weapons attacks. If they go ahead with this it shows that our leaders are just ordinary fallible people who really can't make the right decision under pressure. Instead of all this political navel-gazing and procedural prevarication they just need to ask themselves if throwing bombs and missiles at a megalomaniac has ever resulted in peace.
