Suzanne
With her nicely balanced backing chorus doing the 'oohs' and 'aahs', Suzanne had just sung Pie Jesu (the Andrew Lloyd-Webber one) to a packed house.
She had good reason to look pleased. Every note was perfect.
(L-R: Tim, Rob, Robert, John, Alison, Norma, Suzanne, Annette (who sang the 'duet' part) and Sue.)
This was our "Champagne Soirée" (more accurately a "Sparkling White Wine Matinée"...) to raise funds for music tuition scholarships for local high school students.
We had 15 'acts' - 7 choruses, a quartet, two duets, four solos (including this year's two scholarship girls) and a string sextet. Almost everybody appeared in at least two items (some in as many as six). There were 60 performers and another 25 or so volunteers doing all the non-performing work. Speaking of which - thanks for the terrific lighting Hobbs!
... and raised enough for two full scholarships and the beginnings of a third.
Well done everybody!
