A Grey Building on a Grey Day

This sad building is the control tower for the airfield that was built at Andreas at the beginning of the second world war.

As you can see there are areas of our Island where time has stood still.

However a few weeks ago I read an article in a newspaper where a building of this type had been restored along ecological lines with the use of a timber frame. It looked a real beauty.

One could then admire the view of the hills through the large picture window. Perhaps also have a glass of home brew on the veranda and send red or green signal flares towards any aircraft wishing to land.
