Gladioli

Strictly speaking it's a gladiolus because this is a single stem. A single stem that was blown over today. I thought it was such a shame that the plant which produced it had struggled for months to produce this set of flowers should have its crowning glory eaten by slugs, so I cut it and brought it inside to let it brighten our lives for a while. I know I denied the little bees the opportunity to pollenate the flowers, but it's unlikely the bees would be drawn to the flowers that were lying in the garden.
