A gift of hope

Meet Hope, my new girl :)))

She really was a gift, in payment towards one of my boys (Marley) being used as a stud later in the year. I think that's a wee holiday he'll enjoy!

I've 5 African pygmy hedgehogs so far and Hope is the sixth (and last!) but I'm hoping to be brave and try to use her for breeding once she's old enough.

My breeder friend has a large waiting list for her hogs now they've become so popular as pets. It's hard to believe that such prickly beasties can make good pets but they really do and they're surprisingly cuddly.

Between the 3-week-old chicks and all these other beasties, it's quite the zoo here these days! I must be mad....
