Unfulfilled ambition

My wife bought me this gorgeous guitar a few christmas's ago , at the time I was full of enthusiasm going to lessons and filling the house with as many 3 chord song books I could get .

Sadly it has gathered dust over the years and is currently more of an ornament than a musical instrument. Every time I look at it I have a pang of guilt and feel I should pick it up tune it and have another go , every summer I think I'll learn in the winter , in the dark nights.

Both my father and younger brother are very accomplished players and watching them
It appears so natural to them - it appears to be a gift I have not been blessed with.

I would be happy to play one good well known tune that I could I roll out at a party.
