Jigg's Landings Vista-a step back in time
With friends Lenna and Deb on our adventure to see the little cabins at Jigg's Landings which Manatee County restored back to it's pristine beauty recently, we encountered a wonderful peaceful park, gorgeous river views and some lovely little cabins people can rent (4 of them) along with one restored original set in period time for people to peek through the windows at and enjoy. The little cabins have a small kitchen and a small bedroom. There are communal bath houses for the guests of the cabins, a wonderful boat dock for fishermen and boaters, some nice fishing docks, playgrounds for children and a very laid back landscape of wild flowers and grasses for education and preservation. The vistas of the river are pristine. It was a very enjoyable outing watching a young man fish from the waters edge, a lady with some cute Westie dogs enjoying their sniffs and a lot of interesting birds, bees and simple Florida nature at ist best. It is a step back in time to the fishing camp it once was, only better. The county has done a fine job of signage telling the story of the Jigg's Landing environment and the people who made it a special part of earlier Florida history. Great Job!
