All the way to Portland
A real thick cloud cover this morning yet Portland, on the horizon was bathed in light. Very contrasty so I thought I would use one the B&W software's from the nice people at Nic.
Portland, the bit that is that wedge of land sticking out into the sea. It is well know for the stone that used to be quarried there. Until recently it was a large Royal Naval Port were all RN ships and their crews went to undergo sea training. The "work up" period spent there under the watchful eyes of FOST and his team would be well remembered!
Just this side of Portland is an area of water called the Fleet which is cut off from the sea by Chesil Beach and it houses the Swannery at Abbotsbury and its where the bouncing bombs of Dambuster fame were tested. Might look good in "Large"
Looking forward to a good weekend
