A very sad day....

My garden backs onto the local school playing fields and we have lived here for over 25 years. In the playing fields stands a tall Oak Tree that has been there for over 200 years and I spend a lot of time watching the birds in the tree going about their daily lives.
Today, for some inexplicable reason, it's being cut down. I have absolutely no idea why, but both me and the birds will miss it very much.
