European beaver

At Chateau Le Terrau, Verosvres in southern Burgundy. Apparently the upper Saone/Rhone valley is the population centre for this species (a different species from the north American one), which almost became extinct last century. Coming across this was a complete surpirse - I never expected to see one in the wild.
