Sassongher!

About 1100m of climb, some protected path and a bumped head from an overhanging rock (my first aid is evident in the picture, K wouldn't let me do a bandage as well) and there we were at the top of Sassongher, a 2665 m proper mountain in the Dolomites.

The top apparently was a small Via Ferrata, something that struck and still stricken terror into me, however in reality it was little different to scrambling in the lakes or Skye, so all was good.

So this is day one proper of our Italian adventure, company is great fun, lots of similar people just wanting to walk. Plus a really good dinner at the hotel in the evening, I think K is going to like this holiday!
