This is taking things too far. After a fifteen mile chase they finally caught the speeder on camera.
Swindon Council are removing theirs. They state that: they wanted to scrap the unpopular cameras because they were forced to pay for their upkeep while the Government collected the revenue from speeding fines.
So that was the motorist getting taxed twice (if they lived in Swindon and were a little reckless in the vicinity of the yellow boxes that is). Well done Swindon.
I haven't had a speeding fine for years now but I received a summons a couple of months ago and then realised it was a hire car in my name but driven by another employee in a place I've never visited. Oh the relief.
