All Is Not As It Seems

The photo shows what seems to be an evening with the gently hued sky and a sun emblazoned port side....and the white horses hint at a different picture in this protected bay..... My boat trip was cancelled this evening……. “West to northwest winds, will reach force 6 or higher at times overnight, on coasts from Erris Head to Malin Head to Carlingford Lough”……so I sat on the pier tonight sipping coffee while an angry spray dappled my shirt like a dog barking at the gate as a stranger passes along. I could see all the trawlers not yet in port steam for Skerries, Balbriggan and Clogherhead….and comforted in the knowledge there’s a naval ship offshore should a shout be called. We who are lucky live our lives in the comfort of knowing that there are those who look out for us. What sadness for those who are blind to their own importance in the heads and hearts of their friends.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for a trip to Rockabill………..maybe tomorrow will just be a better day.........
