Grandma's house

Thankfully yesterday's 274 mile trip from Edinburgh to Lincoln (via a break in Newcastle) will be the longest leg of our entire holiday, and we're pleased to report that the wee man coped brilliantly. Sleeping for the majority of the journey, we stopped whenever he began to grumble.

Given that we'll be driving about 3500 miles over the next two weeks, taking in cities such as Bruges, Luxembourg, Monaco, Montpellier and Bordeaux, we'll be careful to ensure the wee man is suitably stimulated the whole way round.

We don't have a concrete plan but we've mapped a tentative route, with drives lasting no more than two hours each, and a maximum of four hours driving a day.

The big question remains: will Wally World be open?
