Saturday market in Wolverhampton. Still a sight to see, a great place to pick up local (& exotic) produce, but nowhere near as grand as it was. Main market days in Wolverhampton are Saturdays & Tuesdays, but the Square is never full. Busy, but not full. And don't get me started on the state of the indoor market. Having recently worked on a local history project, I think about how prominent and important the markets used to be here, and how small and run down they now are. But at least they're still here! We'd like to buy all our produce from local retailers, but unless you're on a very high wage, it's sadly not a possibility. But we try.
