Where have all the flowers gone...

...quite a few are on my bicycle. Long straggly purple vervain, purple dahlias and purple heather for the shady attempt at street greenery in the front of the house. All from the flower house boat a couple of canals away. As I remarked on the purpleness of my purchases, the lady working there said most flowers this time of year are purple. It was one of my theories actually that flowers go the range of the rainbow through the year, but I'd seen too many exceptions to be sure of that. Yet, however, it makes me think again...
