Yellow Rose

Today is the last day of DDW's August Challenge. I have been recovering from a nasty flu bug, so yesterday, Mr CH brought home this thoughtful gift of a yellow rose in a cute vase. It brought a smile to my face!

This is also a date that brings back memories of my late mother-in-law. She was born on August 31st, and flowers are such a beautiful way to remember those who are no longer with us. She was a fine lady, strong and determined to make it through rough patches. She accepted me fully, more like a daughter than daughter-in-law, for which I am forever grateful. I hope I can be the same for my two daughters-in-law.
