Cape gooseberry in flower

To say it's in flower is perhaps a little optimistic. There is one flower.

I have never seen a cape gooseberry flower before. It looks like an ordinary small yellow flower from a distance, but close up, it looks a little weird.

I was just lamenting the lack of fruit on my cape gooseberry plants the other day, and now I'm going to have at least one fruit. If the large green insects, birds and snails don't get to it first.
