And so marks the end of the Summer Holidays here on the Island, with the Illumination Carnival passing through Ryde High Street.

This is Countryfiles planning his outfit for when he plans to involve himself in it next year.

The parade lasted a good two hours, and certainly earns its place as the oldest and one of the biggest carnivals here.

Had a wonderful first day with the Morgans. Glorious summer heat has made a showing again for their visit, and we've enjoyed introductory ice creams, and seaside strolls.

We will certainly sleep well tonight.
