Basketball takes pride of place
I visited Mill River Collaborative earlier in the week. In the concourse of the Government Center I saw this basketball shirt. This was the shirt Vanessa Gidden, Head Coach of Veez Hoops Basketball Camp gave to Stamford's Mayor Michael Pavia at the Yerwood Golf Event. How lovely that it takes pride of place in a common area so many weeks after the event.
Each child on the Camp signed the t-shirt that Vanessa gave to Mayor Pavia on behalf of the Basketball Camp children.
Today was a great opportunity to take a good look at all the names on the t-shirt. I pretty much knew them all and had a little memory in my mind of each of them: Fabiola, Brian, Cliv, little Alanna and Jeffrey to name a few.
Ah, that was a great four weeks.
Vanessa leaves in a few weeks to play for Jamaica in the qualifiers for the Olympics. This would be an amazing feat, to overcome Brazil and Canada: little nation against big nation.
