Waiting

Today I went to collect friends from the airport, and waited a while in a parking area by the perimeter fence, as do many others. Waiting time is a good opportunity to let your thoughts wander, and I was thinking how many would see this verge as an untidy mess of weeds and rubbish to be cut away in order to leave a neat fence.
But it's the presence of the fence which makes the plants into weeds - if it weren't there (erase it in your mind) the plants would be quite naturally placed and people wouldn't stop there and leave rubbish. The plants are just waiting for us to go and leave them alone.
