Electric hedge trimmers are for sissies.

Last year I heard them talking on Gardeners' Question Time about a 100 foot hedge. Wow, I thought. It must be amazing to have a hedge that length. Then a few days later, I went, Hang on a minute. And I measured my hedge. 104 feet.

When we moved here 6 years ago, no one had touched it for years and years. It was 20 feet high, straggly, sad. I've worked and worked on it, given it love and attention, and it feels like my baby. The undulations along its sides make it look as though it's breathing.
