Kyrgyz Independence day

My Father's lovely wife Aselle is from the Kyrgyz Republic and today we went to a Kurultay in Battersea Park to celebrate Kyrgyz Independence day, the first time it has been held in London, Aselle was one of the organisers, it was a great success, Zebedee and I went and enjoyed delicious food and met the performers, sadly we didn't see the entertainment as we arrived too late but it was a lovely atmosphere and great that we could go and look in the Yurts, eat the food and soak up the atmosphere, the money raised is to be used to help Kyrgyz orphans.

There was also a funfair on too and Zebedee enjoyed the bumper cars, some horrid looking mini roller-coaster and a massive inflatable slide and candy floss of course ;-)

Max has finished painting the climbing wall at the school! video of the making of here.

My Brother has written an incredibly powerful short story called Two Plastic Bags and a Wristband which is Editor’s pick on Litro, a real honour, the story is autobiographical and is a snapshot of life on the cancer ward.
Tom has been unwell for 6 years, he has had Leukaemia twice and is still suffering from the treatment after a successful stem cell transplant, his indomitable spirit, sense of humour and positive attitude are an inspiration to all who know him, please read it if you have time. Kendall is here has already shared the link so I know some of you will have read it already, Kendall says everybody ought to read it, a wonderful compliment, I was very moved reading other blippers comments on her thread too.
