Tarragona

We took a day trip down the coast to Tarragona (Roman Tarraco) by train, and I'm very pleased we did. It was a lovely place, with some fabulous Roman ruins, but also a very impressive cathedral. A lot less gaudy than La Sagrada Familia, but that was no bad thing in my eyes.

I'm not religious at all, but I do like cathedrals (and churches, and mosques for that matter) and am always in awe of the craftsmanship that goes into their construction. I am particularly fond of gargoyles, and could have picked any one of a number of grotesque faces for this day's blip, but this shot of the shadows in the cloisters just about won out.
