Sir Bobby Robson.

One of the great football mangers, Sir Bobby Robson, died last week. He managed teams in Europe and England throughout his managerial career and played for England too in his younger days. He was hugely successful and well loved by the supporters of clubs he managed such as Ipswich Town, Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, Newcastle United and of course England.
Ever since he died supporters have laid shirts, scarves, flowers and other memorabilia in the Sir John Hall Stand (seen in this shot) overlooking Newcastle's pitch. Many of the tributes have come from other clubs such as Glagow Celtic and even Sunderland, Newcastle's greatest rivals.
Many people, and I'm amongst them, would say that his greatest contribution would be his committment to fighting cancer. This is exemplified by his own fight against the disease and the £1.6 million pounds people have donated thanks to his efforts. Money continues to pour in since his death.
