Memories of holiday
Back in Blighty today after an amazingly relaxing week in Dordogne, France. We stayed in a Yurt on a farmhouse which was literally in the middle of nowhere. It really was the perfect place to escape the rat race.
So quiet all you could hear was the bees buzzing, an occassional crow from a chicken, birds tweeting, crickets cricketing and the owls hooting at night. We have enjoyed a week of fresh air, sunshine, barbecues, baguettes, cheese, wine, beautiful views and peace and Quiet.
All went extremely well aside from the journey home where the holiday traffic took us 1.5 hours to get to the ferry port (from a point of what should have taken 10 minutes) so instead of arriving home at just before midnight we arrived home at 4.30am this morning! Paired with the petrol coming on as we hit the jam and managing to crawl the best part of 2 hours until we reached the BP at dover I'm still in shock/impresssed by our little pug for making it that far - fully loaded with luggage and booze - without needing a tow on or off the ferry...it was definately touch or go!
So today has been a blurr of catching up with the washing, seeing the Norms, and seeing the parents for a catch up!
One (of our many) wines purchased in France has been opened and the roast is cooking. Although I'm not sure 2 glasses of red before dinner will bode well for the dinner!! ooops!
Oh and best of all Norman was waiting for us when we came through the door this morning. So relieved he hadn't run away this time!!!!!
