pebble underneath my feet

Arrived in Antsirabe feeling cold and exhausted. Luckily the guy who ran our hostel, Chez Billy, was the kindest man ever. He took one look at us, saw how knackered we were and took us straight to our room and told us to get some sleep before even doing all the formalities of filling out papers and so on. Very much appreciated.

In the afternoon we sorted out our adventure tour to start tomorrow and went on a bit of a handicraft tour with a couple of pousse-pousse drivers. This was the first place they took us to and by far our favourite one. This guy made all sorts of objects, including animal figurines, earrings and bracelets, using the outer part of the zebu's horns. It always amazes me to witness really skilled people doing their thing - the confidence, the talent, the artistic eye....I don't know, it just makes me happy :) We also visited some confiseurs, paper makers, tailors and painters. A lovely afternoon all in all.

In the evening we went to a really cool restaurant called Pousse Pousse - all the seats are made from old rickshaws. Very original and very tasty food. I like.
