Plaza de Cibeles,

Arrived in Madrid for a few days, what a place!
We are staying at the Hotel Regina which was beside the Puerta del sol, the centre of Madrid.
We jumped on the bus from the airport, getting brave not having the kids here, otherwise we would have got a taxi straight to the hotel door.
Our stop was at the Plaza de Cibeles, a beautiful square located between 2 major throughfares - very busy!
In the middle of the plaza is the Cibeles Fountain, you can just about see it on the right of the picture,a marble statue of the Roman goddess of nature and fertility seated on chariot pulled by 2 lions, too busy to get a better angle or picture!
Wandered about the streets enjoying the heat and the relaxing atmosphere of the outdoor bars and cafes.
