One Year, Forty Loaves

Walnut loaf – produced as part of my ‘One Year, Forty Loaves’ project! Delicious toasted and served with butter and marmalade!

A couple of years ago I decided to teach myself how to make my own bread. I think I have managed to grasp this reasonably well and try to now make most of my own bread.

To mark a significant birthday (!) earlier this year I decided to set myself the challenge of making forty different types of breads in the year. I am cheating slightly as I have decided to include different flavoured bread as well as bread made from different types of dough.

I’ve currentlygot ten types of loaf or roll in my repertoire - so have some way to go, but with Autumn on its way, I think English muffins and crumpets must come soon!

If you have any suggestions for other breads or rolls you have enjoyed, do let me know and I will try to make them and blip them!

So far on my list are: White tin, brown tin, white bloomer, 6 seed brown loaf, hot-cross buns/sticky spicy buns, Chelsea buns, bagels, walnut loaf, olive and sun-dried tomato bread, cheesy Chelsea buns.
