Backblip #1 - San Nicolo

Great family day! CC rode her first horse and then afterwards also a pony. Then, we took the little train car up the San Nicolo valley and had lunch at the turn around point. Afterwards a good walk up to the falls and a quick scamper down before it rained a bit. This place is one of my favorite Val di Fassa secrets... not too crowded and the upper valley is lined with little huts like the one in this picture that for the most part are transformed into summer cottages. The rules are pretty strick and so the owners are limited to how much improvement they can do. That is nice to keep things very simple and basic. This one looks very airy. So, I don't think anyone sleeps here. The position is wonderful close up to the falls. The view is awesome in the other direction too looking on to the Rosengarten across the valley. This place has a feeling very near to some places in Colorado that I have visited and also the grassy Yosemite valley. There is even a big rock group that looks like a small El Capitan!
