taking it easy

at the bottom of a nearby track to the gite where we stay is a lovely river where i feed the fish bread on a hook!
i'm not interested in catching a fish but it's amusing watching the float bob up and down.
i frequently see a kingfisher flying down the river.
yesterday a kingfisher mistook my fishing pole as a branch and tred to land on it.
it came barrelling out of nowhere, tried to land on the rod but as it bent under its weight, it shot off again from where it came. it all happened so quickly i couldn't believe it!
