Speckled Wood Butterfly
or Pararge aegeria, I think!
When we arrived home it seemed very autumnal, and I thought I'd missed the last of the wonderful butterflies there have been this year in the garden. However this morning having a quick cuppa in the garden, trying to finish off knitting a jumper to go into Harden Show this weekend, I saw this. I think it is rather beautiful even though it isn't showy. I hadn't knowingly ever seen one before, and especially not in the garden so I hope I have identified it correctly. I then took Reggie up through St Ives and saw lots more of them. Not sure if blip has opened my eyes more, or if there are just more of them around this year.
Caught up with back blipping so all my days are consecutive again. Must make sure next year that all campsites we go on have free wifi!
