Last day of the holidays
We survived the sleepover last night! I had forgotten just how noisy six twelve year old boys can be - I was half expecting a knock on the door from the neighbours complaining about the noise levels, but thankfully we had no problems.
So late to bed and up early, that is the norm with sleepovers. After I made them breakfast and tidied up I dropped them at the station as they wanted to go 'wander around Guildford' on their own, as they find their confidence at becoming independent. I saw them onto the train and 20 minutes later they were in Guildford. They had 2 hours to wander around the shops and get a milkshake and lunch at McDonalds and then I drove to Guildford where I met them and then handed them and their bags over to their mothers. An enjoyable end to the school holidays, but tonight it is early to bed as school starts tomorrow.
This photo is of the top end of the High Street in Guildford. The statue is of George Abbott (1562-1633) who was born in Guildford and who became the Archbishop of Canterbury. It was market day today so everything was busy with people shopping at the various stalls and others frantically getting last minute school shoes and stationery.
Now to check the school bag one last time ...
