Rhondda History
This afternoon me and hubby headed up to the job centre in Porth to pick up some application forms for the Morrisons job vacancies that were advertised on the web. You see, we are desperate for our 17 year old to get herself a part time job!! She on the other hand is not so desperate!!!! Hence its me who's trawling the internet looking for jobs for her!! Typical eh?!! She needs to start realising that money doesn't grow on trees and Mum and Dad's purse and wallet are not forever open doors!!!!
Just down the road from Porth is the Rhondda Heritage Park in the village of
Trehafod so I persuaded hubby to park up, for me to go and snap some piccies. This very popular tourist attraction was built on the site of the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery and is well worth a visit. You can go underground as part of the tour and most of the guides there are all ex colliery workers.
