Small Copper on knapweed

Summer returned to the West today and the butterflies were flying.

I headed out to the Isle of Seil, no ferry crossing required because it has a bridge. The bridge is known locally as the" bridge over the Atlantic", it has a lovely humpback shape and I took some shots of it for my blip today.

I then looked beside the bridge at the lovely local traditional 18th century Inn. It is called the "Tigh an Truish" translated as the House of the trousers. I have had a few good nights in here in times past!

It was named following the 1745 Jacobite rebellion when kilts were banned. The locals reportedly stopped here to change from their kilts into trousers before proceeding to the mainland. A lovely Inn so I took some more photos for my blip today.

Sorry I have shown you neither of these things so you will need to wait for my next visit over the Atlantic. Today I preferred this shot of the small copper on a lovely strip of species rich coastal grassland on the island.

Plenty more scope for future blips here
