Lychgate at Llandaff Cathedral

The Cathedral spire can be seen in the background.

My father, who's 99, says there's a family tradition that the lychgate was built by his grandfather.

The archives don't state the name of the builder, but there is a record of a Cathedral committee's decision to have a lychgate constructed. That was in the 1860s, a period which fits with the family tradition.

PlainJane managed to get into the shot!
