First day of the second year at school

Bless his cotton socks.

Today was the start of Year 1 (aka his second year at school, after reception). A new teacher, a new classroom, and a juggling around of the children in his class.

So not the perfect time for him to get shingles!

I noticed yesterday as we were walking up the main road, and he was complaining of a pain under his arm. Luckily managed to get a Doctors straight away - where it was quickly diagnosed as Shingles as he's run down.

It doesn't rain but it pours!

As it was school did take him (but forgot to ask me to sign a medication consent form, so I had to dash over to school after lunch to sign it).

I was expecting him to be more tired when he got home tonight; but he seemed okay for the first day back.
